It's closer to the wedding and of course, I have to start thinking about how I want my make up and hair to look like. I've bought probably 3 or 4 hair mags and sadly, couldn't find anything that I thought would be nice for me. It's crazy because I just want a regular down hairstyle with some curls on the ends. I have long hair already so it wouldn't be too hard to do. Well, then I got to thinking. I would hate to have my hair down and a) it gets hot and the curls sweat out and b)it's all good and then it rains. Plus my future husband to be wants to swim and chill and relax during our honeymoon without me worrying about my hair. I don't blame him, however, I am a black woman and my hair on a daily is important so for the wedding day, I'm hoping that it'll be okay. So I say all of that to say this---I finally found a hairstyle that I would like. Something easy, simple---it shouldn't take long to duplicate. I want a simple hair style without the crucial heat of curling irons and different products in my hair. Sadly, that's what I do on a daily. So for the wedding, I've decided to try a weave. From videos, magazines and testimonies of frequent weave-wearers, it sounds like this is the way to go. I do know that it's expensive. I looked a website and saw just how much it was for ONE bag of hair. I have also watched "Good Hair" and didn't realize just how much goes into getting the hair to the stores (that we, black community don't even own but that's another blog) to the hair salons to my head and that is a lot right there. But with all this research, I'm thinking this will work for the wedding. I just hope that I don't get addicted to it. As I stated, I know it's expensive. Just taking care of my own hair is costly but I will make myself sign a contact advising that I will only do this twice--once as a hair trial before the wedding and if I like, for the wedding. That's it. I promise. I added the hairstyle I'm trying to achieve.
Now as far as makeup, I want to look and feel glamorous. Just different and spectacular from my daily look. I've always loved how browns and golds look on me. It's very Egyptian for me. Don't ask me how or why. However, for the wedding, I want to try colors that I've never tried with the hopes that they'll look good. I might still add the gold to my eyes but for my lips, I usually wear a deep red, close to a maroon. I might want to move a little closer to red-red. So we'll see. I'm adding a picture of what I want as far as make up.
