The last week in review

I'm still in shock about Whitney Houston. I keep hearing her music and seeing all of the tributes that everyone is doing and it's just crushing to hear that she's passed. I guess in my naive way, I never thought about the day when Michael Jackson and Whitney would pass away. I know they both were human beings (daughter/son, parents) but I guess to see them and their gift, I just saw them as untouchable and bigger than life. I was quickly reminded that she was flesh and blood, a mother and daughter who shared herself with the world. Her death is so reminiscent (to me) of Dorothy Dandridge. Whitney was five years older than Dorothy but they both died so young. They were beloved by all but also dealt with a lot in the public eye. It's just ironic that Whitney wanted to play Dorothy Dandridge in film. Now....years and years from now, who will play Whitney? No one can replace her at all. She was just a beautiful soul all the way through and I hope that Bobbi Christina and Bobby Brown are okay. I send them both love.

I got a nasty cold on Monday along with Mother Nature deciding to stop by for an unexpected visit. My husband though made Valentine's Day very special. He wanted to make extra since it was the first time as husband and wife and he did. He sent the most beautiful flowers with a bear and chocolates. We ate dinner that night (at home) in sweats and a Tshirt. I had snot rags, Theraflu and all kinds of cooties but he was very nice and loving. We didn't have to do anything big and extragavant. It was nice just the two of us. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I will make it up to him ;)

So....the diet. Yeah, after about a week and losing a total of 16 lbs. we stopped it. It does work and I will do it again but we need to focus on working out and still eating healthy. Just not down to 500 calories a day. Besides, when we do take our cruise, I might get on the boat weighing 140. 5 days later with all the food you can eat, I might woddling off the boat 180, 190. So I figure if we work out and try to maintain a healthy diet, it wont be so bad. We gave it a nice go around. *Currently waiting on my burger to arrive.
