Sign the dotted line!

Ladies, one thing I learned from watching Bridezillas and all of the wedding books I've read is to make sure that pay attention to contracts. You have to make sure that what you specified and asked for is in plain black and white. Don't have the person writing up the contact put in any abbreviations or put in something that isn't clear. If you asked and paid for satin chair covers, make sure it's in your final receipt and the contract. If you didn't want them to add risers, no head table but a sweetheart table, if you would rather have American cheese instead Swiss cheese, if they can accommodate and you can pay for it, make sure that's in the contract. If the make up artist is supposed to be curling your hair instead of an updo, get it in the contract. I wrote up contracts for people that was doing stuff for free. I just want to make sure that Ian and I are covered. With all the judge shows now, people will take you to court for anything and I am not about to be on Judge Judy talking about "see what had happened was...." No thank you. The wedding business is precisely that---a business. An expensive long detailed stressful business for everyone involved and getting details cleared up first before it gets too close to the event makes things a lot easier. Ian and I had a pre-wedding fire but we fixed it. The bad part is that it happened just a few days before the wedding. The good part was that it gave me a reason to actually be a Bridezilla. Not too bad but it was deserved. Happy wedding planning!
