The closer we get to the wedding (8 weeks from today), I understand more and more why a day-of service is needed. My fiance and I were talking about the wedding rehearsal and it get me thinking about the actual rehearsal. Mentally, I'm trying to figure out where to stand, where to move and getting everyone to cooperate. Then I asked him, "I wonder who will take charge of this?" He said what I was thinking: our mothers. Both our mothers are very strong, independent, very take-charge women. Nothing wrong with that separately but together, it could get a little crazy. I don't think it'll be crazy-bad. We just don't really have time for crazy in one hour. We will have just enough time to get it done and hopefully no one will forget anything the next day. So with these thoughts looming in my brain, I started thinking maybe I should get a coordinator. They could help with the rehearsal and the day of the wedding and control things while myself, my future husband and family can relax. Now he and I have had this discussion before and even enlisted a couple of people with some advice. He doesn't think we'd need that type of service. Basically it'd be a waste of money. I can understand that. I can and for the most part, do understand. However, I also can see why we would need one. I'm envisioning a lot of chiefs and raised voices. You might be asking what don't you take charge? I very well could. Ian, the officiant and I could come up with something and go from there. The word bridezilla might be uttered once or twice but if I haven't had any bridezilla moments by then, I should be able to have it. Here's the clincher though: I've done some comparison pricing. The cheapest I could find for just the day before and the day of---$500! Really?? Seriously? For pointing, reading and putting out fires-the cheapest is $500. On the flip side of that, if she/he took care of everything to point where I didn't worry about too much....it might be worth. I don't know.
